The velvet lion is a very new breed of rabbit which is not recognised by the brc. They are crosses between lionheads and mini rexes and they take the most striking characteristics from both breeds, the soft velvety rex fur, and the fluffy lionhead mane. What I aim to create in my velvet lion program is what essentially looks exactly like a lionhead but with rex fur (instead of a mini rex with a mane...). They are a bit like the "designer" dog breeds.
